From Russia With Love

Russian Euro 2008 sensation Andrei Arshavin agent has claimed that his client would 'love' to play for the Gunners and that he is 'desperate' to join.
Arshavin has been linked with several of Europe's biggest clubs including Chelsea, Man United and even claiming that he 'dreams' of a move to Spanish outfit Barcelona, but it now appears that Arsenal are his favoured destination.
The playmakers club Zenit St. Petersburg have mae it very clear that they will not be willing to let their key player leave on the cheap and have set an asking price of around £24m to seemingly fend off suitors, however they have now conceded that Arshavin will leave and are willing to negotiate a deal.
An unnamed English club last week had a £19m bid rejected from the Russians for the Arshavin and it was beleived to be from the Gunners.
Andrei's representative Denis Lachter spoke to the Daily Mirror.
"Andrei would love to play for Arsenal and is desperate to join" claimed Lachter.
"His style of play would suit them perfectly."
It is still very unclear as to where Arshavin will end up at the start of next season but will Arsenal fans be happy to see him join our club, or do they think he just is not worth the money, what do you think?

Nasri Used Webster Clause In Transfer To Arsenal

New Arsenal signing Samir Nasri is said to have used the 'Webster Clause' in his contract in order to make the move to north London. The rule states that any player who signed a contract before the age of 28 can buy himself out of the contract three years after the deal is signed. The rule was started as a result of the controversial transfer from Hearts to Wigan Athletic in 2007, Webster was ordered to pay Hearts £625,000 to break his contract.
Marseille released a statement on their official website concerning the transfer:
"Samir Nasri had not hidden from the Marseille leaders, for several weeks, his desire to live and experience life abroad. Which allowed him in his contract, in the state, owing to the disposal of the Webster ruling. Nevertheless, he had accepted extending to the OM (Olympique Marseille) up to 2012, so that he would guarantee the Olympians a good interest in the case of his departure. Documents had to be full filled at the end of the season. In other words, the French international could not go to another club without these defined conditions previously (between the player and the OM at the time of his contract prolongation) are met. Which is the case today between Arsenal and the OM.
This new "stability clause" allows a player to leave his club at the end of his third year of a contract, while repurchasing the years of the remaining contracts."

This statement clearly shows how the transfer was handled, and also gives an insight as to why it took so long.

Nasri Signs From Marseille

Arsenal have finally secured the signing of Samir Nasri from Marseille for an undisclosed fee on a long term contract. After months of speculation and false allegations the deal has been completed, Arsenal.com announced the signing this morning.
Nasri, who has lived with his parents all his life in Marseille is eager to join up with his new team and believes that a new life style will be good for him.
However Samir's transfer would seemingly open the door for Barcelona to complete their move for Arsenal midfielder Alexander Hleb.
